How a page gets here
- The catalogue reads itself A job runs once every three months and reads the catalogue in pounds, dollars and euros, stamping every price with the date it was read. Anything the seller has stopped returning keeps its last reading and the date on it. Nothing about a price is typed by hand, and no figure here is shown without the date it was read.
- A catalogue page carries no opinion It shows the listing, the photographs and the dated price, and it stays out of search engines until a guide picks it. It is there so a link from Pinterest or WhatsApp lands somewhere honest.
- A guide is written by a person It compares listings on facts, names the flaw, and says who each product is wrong for. 97 of them exist. None claims to be hands-on, because none is.
- The page graduates Once a published guide picks a product and there is an image and a price to show, that catalogue page is indexed and joins the sitemap, carrying the pick label and the reason.
A guide is not a review
There are two kinds of page here and the site never blurs them. A guide compares real listings on facts I can check: what the listing itself states, and the price, which I read and stamp with the date. A review means I bought the thing, used it, and photographed it myself.
Everything published today is a guide, and every one says so at the top. Calling a page a review when nothing was tested is what makes most affiliate sites worthless, so it is refused in code rather than left to my judgement on a Friday night.
How the money works
Links out to sellers earn me a commission if you buy. That is the whole business model, and it is why the disclosure sits above the first link on a page rather than in a footer nobody reads.
Two things matter more than the disclosure. A commission never decides the order of a shortlist. And I never buy through my own links, which keeps my own shopping out of the numbers entirely.
There are no crossed-out "was" prices I did not record myself, no countdown timers and no stock counters. Those exist to rush people, and rushing people is the opposite of the job.
