What that means in practice

• Most outbound product links here are affiliate links. The rest go straight to the seller listing and earn me nothing, because that product has no tracking link yet.
• Links go straight to the seller. There is no redirect, no cloaking and no interstitial page counting your click.
• Every page with an outbound link carries the "Ad" strip above the first one, and on a product's own page that strip says which of the two kinds the link below it is. You never have to come here to find out.
• Nobody can pay for a placement, a position in a shortlist, or a better verdict. There is no rate card because there is nothing for sale.
• I never purchase through my own links.

Prices

A job runs once every three months and reads the current price of the catalogue, then stamps it with the date it was read. That date is printed beside the price, so you can see how old the figure is and check it against the seller's own page before you buy. Anything the seller has stopped returning keeps its last reading and the date on it, so an older date beside a price means exactly that. There are no crossed-out "was" prices I did not record myself, because a seller's own reference price is not something I can see.

Independence

PickTrove is independent of every marketplace and seller named on it. A commission on a link never decides the order of a shortlist, and if something is bad the page says so.
