The short answer

Prices in GBPeach row carries the day it was read
Best overall, it names its colours Leather Repair Patch Self Adhesive PU Fabric A grained PU sheet 10 by 20cm by its own photograph, in a chart of sixteen named colours from white, ivory and khaki to brown, dark brown and black, and the chart itself warns the colour may look different with the light and the screen. A mesh backing it calls hot melt adhesive, with before and after photographs on car seats, chairs and a sofa. Small, so for a tear or a burn rather than a whole cushion £1.94checked 18 Oct 2026 Check price opens in a new tab
Matte, if your leather has no grain Self Adhesive Leather Repair Patch 20x30cm A matte sheet, 20 by 30cm in its own photograph, in about ten colours from cream to black. A drawing shows its layers, the leather face, a velvet backing, the glue and a backing paper, and says the glue leaves no residue when peeled off. Two other listings here sell the same sheet in the same photographs, so compare them before buying £2.83checked 18 Oct 2026 Check price opens in a new tab
A bigger piece, for a long split Self Adhesive Leather Repair Patch Tape A grained roll in black, grey or brown, sold at 25 by 30cm or 50 by 137cm by its own photograph, and the larger is as big as any sheet named on the page. A mesh backing under kraft paper, shown on a sofa, a car seat and an office chair. For more than one repair, or damage longer than a hand £3.58checked 18 Oct 2026 Check price opens in a new tab
Pre-cut shapes, each one measured Cute Shaped Leather Repair Patch Nine shapes that need no cutting, each measured in its own photograph and each 7.5 to 8cm across: an oval, a circle, a bear, a flower, a heart, a star, a cloud, a butterfly and a dolphin. Five colours, tan, rust, orange, white and black. Shown on a sofa, a car seat, a bag and a jacket. For a small hole or a burn, where a shape looks meant rather than mended £4.52checked 18 Oct 2026 Check price opens in a new tab
A tape, for a split along a seat Black Leather Repair Tape For Sofa Car Seats A black tape with a cloth texture, on a roll 5cm or 10cm wide and 10 metres long by its own photographs, shown laid across the cracked seat of a scooter. A tape covers a long split in one strip where a sheet would need cutting first. It comes only in black £6.28checked 18 Oct 2026 Check price opens in a new tab
The thicker of the two measured 25X30 Self Adhesive Fix Patch Household Sofa A grained sheet on a mesh backing, 25X30 in its title with no unit, in black, orange, browns, tan, cream and white. Its own photograph puts a gauge on it reading 0.79mm, against 0.44mm for the only other listing that measures its thickness, and a four step photograph shows it covering a small tear in black leather £2.75checked 18 Oct 2026 Check price opens in a new tab

Thirty self-adhesive leather repair patches from one search and the order export, none of them handled here. The sticky backed sheet that goes over a split in a sofa, a car seat or a scooter seat.

Seventeen say how big. Two say how thick.

Which you are buying

What the photographs showListings
A sheet or a roll to cut to size19
Pre-cut shapes, or squares5
A narrow black tape or roll6

The sheet or roll is the usual kind: a layer of imitation leather with a mesh backing, glue and a paper to peel off. Eleven titles say PU leather and three say vinyl, and one listing’s own panel says PVC. The tapes are black, narrow and long, and all six are shown on a scooter seat.

Colour and grain

A patch that is the wrong colour shows more than the damage did. Only one listing names its colours, sixteen of them in a chart, and it says the colour on your screen may not be what arrives. Another shows the same cream patch under two kinds of light, and it looks like two different colours. Order the closest name, and if you can, hold it against the sofa in daylight before you cut.

Most sheets and rolls show a pebbled grain. Three titles say matte, and they are one sheet sold three times, with a drawing of its layers and a 20 by 30cm size.

Size and thickness

Seventeen listings give a size, in the title or a photograph. The sheets run from 10 by 20cm and 20 by 30cm up to rolls of 35 by 138cm and 50 by 137cm. One sells ten black squares of 10cm, and the tapes come 5cm wide and 5 or 10 metres long, or 10cm wide and 10 metres long. Thirteen leave the size out.

Two listings put a thickness gauge on the sheet. One reads 0.79mm and the other 0.44mm, so one is nearly twice as thick as the other. Nobody else says.

Fitting it

The steps are the same on most listings: clean the area, cut the patch to size, peel the paper and press it down. One listing adds a hair dryer, warming the patch for a while and then pressing it tightly. The after photographs are the sellers’ own, and several still show the edge of the patch.

What was left out, and why

A set of measured shapes in about a dozen colours is the dearest listing here. The other four black tapes, one 5cm by 5 metres and three with no size, do what the picked tape does. Ten 10cm squares are the one to keep in a drawer for shoes and small scuffs, and come only in black. A roll of 35 by 138cm in about twenty colours is worth a look as well. Of the matte sheet sold three times and the rolls sold twice, compare the listings before buying. The listing with the masking tape chart, the one whose title and photographs disagree, and the ones with no size were left out for saying the least.

What is good

What you can settle before you buy

  • Match the colour by name if you can. One listing prints a chart of sixteen named colours, from white and ivory to dark brown and black, and warns the colour may look different with the light and the screen. Another photographs one cream patch under warm light and normal light, and the two do not look the same.
  • Grain or matte. Most sheets and rolls here show a pebbled grain pressed into the face. Three titles say matte, for a surface with no grain, and all three are the same sheet.
  • Know how much you need. Seventeen listings give the size of the piece, from ten 10cm squares to a roll 50 by 137cm, and the tapes and narrow rolls come 5 to 10cm wide. Measure the damage first and allow a margin round it.
  • The same four steps. Most that show how to fit one give the same four: clean the damaged area, cut the patch to size, peel off the backing paper and press it down. One adds warming it with a hair dryer and pressing it tightly.
What is not great

What to read twice

  • It covers the damage, it does not mend it. Every one of these is a sticker that goes over a tear, a burn or a worn patch, and several of the sellers' own after photographs still show the outline of the patch. Expect a colour and a grain that are close rather than the same.
  • Thirteen give no size. They show a roll or a stack of sheets and never say how big. One gives no size of its own and shows a chart of widths drawn on rolls of orange masking tape instead.
  • Before and after is the seller's word. One listing's after photographs turn a worn tan car seat into a black stitched one and a brown sofa into a grey one. That is a new cover, not a patch.
  • One sheet, three listings. The matte sheet is sold under three listings in the same photographs, and one set of rolls under two, with a different maker's name stamped on each. One of those titles promises five black circles, and its photographs show rolls in several colours with four small circles as a gift.
