Nose hair trimmers, twenty listings, about eight designs, and one gives its battery
The short answer
Prices in GBPUSDEUReach row carries the day it was readTwenty nose and ear hair trimmers from one search, none of them handled here. The small thing that lives in a bathroom drawer and gets used twice a month.
Twenty listings. Roughly eight actual trimmers.
Most of this page is the same few designs
Open the photographs side by side and the shelf collapses.
| Design | How many listings sell it |
|---|---|
| Orange and black capsule with a digital charge display | 6 |
| Slim black stick, “13000RPM” and “IPX7” in its pictures | 4 |
| Black stick with a numeric battery readout | 2 |
| Everything else, one or two listings each | 8 |
The same photographs, in the same order, under different titles and slightly different prices. That is normal on a marketplace and it is not a trick: it means several sellers are stocking one factory’s product.
It also means that for eighteen of these twenty, the useful question is not which listing, it is which design, and then which listing sells it cheapest.
What the pictures know that the titles do not
Washing. Only four titles say waterproof or washable. Most galleries show the head twisting off and going under a running tap. For something that goes up your nose, being able to rinse it is the whole of hygiene, and it is available on nearly every design here.
The water rating. Here is where it gets untidy.
| Rating | Means | Where it appears |
|---|---|---|
| IPX7 | Can be briefly submerged | In the photographs of two designs |
| IPX5 | Survives running water, not immersion | In the VGR’s title and photographs |
| “Waterproof”, no number | Anything | Several titles |
Either rating is plenty for rinsing a head under a tap. What you cannot do is take any of these figures as tested. A rating printed on a seller’s own panel is the seller’s word, and the VGR is the only listing whose number appears in the title as well as the gallery.
One listing publishes a specification
| VGR | The other nineteen | |
|---|---|---|
| Battery capacity | 500mAh | Not given |
| Running time | 150 minutes | Not given |
| Charge time | 1.5 hours | Not given |
| Water rating | IPX5 | In a picture, if at all |
| Maker named | Yes | One other |
It costs about twice what the rest do. On a four pound item that is not much money in absolute terms, and it buys the only listing here that has told you what you are getting.
The words to skip
Painless is on six titles. A rotary trimmer cuts rather than pulls, which is the honest reason these tend not to hurt, but “painless” is a promise about your nose from somebody who has never met it. Several galleries go further and say the head cannot harm the nasal cavity. Nobody on this page is in a position to know that about you.
RPM is on two designs, 8000 and 13000. The guard and the blade behind it decide the cut, and a motor speed tells you nothing about either.
For men is on fifteen of twenty. It is a search term.

| Best overall, and the only one that tells you what is in it VGR 2-in-1 Nose And Ear Hair Trimmer For Men | £14.19$18.29€16.70checked 18 Oct 2026 | Twice the price of most of this page and the only listing that publishes a specification rather than adjectives: a 500mAh battery, 150 minutes of running time, a 1.5 hour USB-C charge and an IPX5 rating, which means it is made to be rinsed rather than dropped in the bath. A named maker, a second head for eyebrows and sideburns, and a blade it describes as self sharpening. | Cheapest of the commonest design Nose Hair Trimmer | £4.69$6.24€5.51checked 18 Oct 2026 | The orange and black capsule with the charge display, which is sold under six different listings on this page with identical photographs. This is the cheapest of the six at the time of checking. Its own gallery shows the head twisting off and being rinsed under a tap, and it comes with a cap that covers the head in a wash bag. A dull choice, and at this price the dull choice is the right one | Check opens in a new tab |
| Cheapest on the page Nose Hair Trimmer Mini for Electric Clipper | £4.22$5.63€4.96checked 18 Oct 2026 | The lowest price here, and a design that turns up under four listings as a slim black stick. Its photographs claim IPX7 and show it being rinsed clean, neither of which the title mentions, and a 13000RPM motor, which matters less than the guard. If the job is simply to have one in the bathroom drawer, this is enough | Check opens in a new tab |
What you can settle before you buy
- These are cheap and they all do the basic job. Eighteen of the twenty cost between about £4.20 and £5.80, every one is a small rotary trimmer with a guarded head, and nineteen charge from a USB cable rather than taking a battery.
- Several listings are the same trimmer. The orange and black capsule with the digital display appears under six different titles, with the same photographs in the same order. A black stick with a 13000RPM claim appears under four more. Buy the cheapest listing of the design you like and ignore the rest.
- Most of them can be rinsed, and the photographs say so even where the titles do not. Only four titles say waterproof or washable, but most galleries show the head twisting off and going under a running tap. For something that goes up your nose, that is the feature worth having.
- One of the twenty publishes a real specification. The VGR gives a 500mAh battery, 150 minutes of running time, a 1.5 hour charge and an IPX5 rating. None of the others gives a single one of those four figures in words.
What to read twice
- Six titles promise painless and no listing can prove it. A rotary trimmer does not pull hairs, which is the honest reason they tend not to hurt, but painless is a claim about your nose that a seller has never met. The same goes for the pictures claiming the head cannot harm the nasal cavity.
- Water ratings appear in photographs, not titles, and they disagree. One design's gallery says IPX7, which is immersion. The VGR says IPX5, which is splashes and rinsing. A title that says waterproof with no number could mean either, and a rating printed on a seller's own panel is still the seller's word.
- Motor speed is advertised and says little. 13000RPM on one design, 8000rpm on another. What decides the cut is the guard and the blade behind it, and neither figure tells you about those.
- Fifteen of twenty say for men. There is nothing male about a nose. It is a search term.
- Only two name a maker. Eighteen are the same handful of unbranded designs, which is fine at four pounds and means there is nobody to hold to anything if one stops charging in a month.
