Toiletry bags, most hang on a hook and none says it will pass airport security
The short answer
Prices in GBPUSDEUReach row carries the day it was readTwenty nine toiletry bags from one search and the order export, none of them handled here. The bag for a toothbrush, a razor and whatever else goes in a suitcase.
Most hang on a hook. None says it will get you through airport security.
Which you are buying
| What the photographs show | Listings |
|---|---|
| A fold-out bag that hangs open from a hook | 10 |
| A four section bag with handles, most with clear pockets | 5 |
| A dopp kit, open at the top | 6 |
| A roll-up mesh bag | 2 |
| A structured bag or pouch from a named maker | 4 |
| Not a wash bag: a standing toothbrush bag and a shower tote | 2 |
The fold-out bag is the commonest here: a zipped case that opens into two or three pockets and hangs from a hook. The dopp kit is the older shape, a box that opens at the top, and four of the six here have a hook folded into the lid.
The hook, and the length
A hook matters most in a hotel or a shared bathroom, where there is nowhere to put things down. Twenty six titles say hanging or hook, and three bags show none. Check where it will hang: the bags that measure themselves open run from 41 to 53cm for a fold-out bag and 70 to 90cm for a four section one, which is a long way down a door.
Airport security
GOV.UK says the rules for liquids in hand luggage depend on the airport. At most, liquids go through security in containers of 100ml or less, packed in a single transparent resealable plastic bag that holds no more than a litre and measures about 20cm by 20cm, one per person. Some airports allow up to 2 litres, and some do not ask for the bag. Check the airport before you travel.
No bag here says it is that bag. Several have clear pockets, and not one gives a capacity. Whichever you choose, pack the liquids for the cabin in a separate clear bag.
What was left out, and why
Three bags come from makers that sell under their own names, BAGSMART, Mark Ryden and Naturehike, and are among the dearest here. So are the quilted bag with a jewellery section and the green padded bag. Of the two PU leather dopp kits one gives no size and the other shows no hook, and the standing mesh bag and the shower tote are not wash bags. A Chiikawa makeup bag came back from the same search and is not on this site, because Chiikawa is a copyrighted cartoon character. Of each design sold under several listings, compare the listings and take the cheapest.

What you can settle before you buy
- The hook is the point. Twenty six titles say hanging or hook, and a bag that hangs from a towel rail or a door works in a hotel bathroom with no shelf beside the basin. Three show no hook in any photograph.
- Check how long it hangs. By the photographs that measure them, a fold-out bag hangs 41 to 53cm long and a four section bag 70 to 90cm. Shut, most are 22 to 25cm across.
- Mesh or clear. Mesh pockets let a wet toothbrush dry and show what is inside. Clear plastic pockets keep things dry and show what is in them, and several bags here have one.
- Liquids still go in their own bag. GOV.UK says that at most airports liquids go through security in containers of 100ml or less, in one transparent resealable bag of no more than a litre, about 20cm by 20cm. Some airports allow up to 2 litres and no bag, so check yours before you pack.
What to read twice
- Not one says it will pass airport security. Several have clear pockets, and none gives a capacity or claims to be the bag a security check asks for. Take the liquids out at the airport whatever the pockets look like.
- Four designs, ten listings. One grey fold-out bag is sold under three listings, one black dopp kit under three, a fold-out printed Travel Sweet or Travel Season under two, and a four section bag with a reflective stripe under two.
- Waterproof is a word. Seventeen titles say waterproof and three more say water resistant or repellent, and none gives a rating. Expect a splash to wipe off, not a bag that keeps a burst bottle in.
- Other people's names on the props. Several photographs fill the bags with branded toiletries, a perfume box and a fashion magazine. The names belong to the props, not the bags.
